The Saskatchewan EV Charging Study uses a free mobile app powered by ev.energy to connect your EV or home charger to the program. Create an account and sign up today!
Your connected EV or home charger’s telematics tracks your charging in real time to determine when you are plugged-in and actively charging, as well as energy consumed.
The charging you do is displayed on your personalized dashboard along with your rewards earned. You can login, view, and download your charging data in the ev.energy app anytime.
Join hundreds of EV drivers who are helping SaskPower learn more about the needs of EV drivers in Saskatchewan to inform future programs.

The Saskatchewan EV Charging Study is powered by ev.energy technology and are operated in partnership with an electric utility company with a focus on electric vehicle (EV) charging.
This program allows us to gather valuable data insights from EVs to improve the electric grid and prepare for a future with increased EV adoption.
The Saskatchewan EV Charging Study collects charging information from electric vehicles (EVs) in an electric utility company service territory. This information is used to understand how EV charging affects the electric grid and provides insight into how they can better support their EV customers.
The EV charging study is delivered by ev.energy who will provide SaskPower with the data collected to help plan for increased electrification in the transportation sector.
Participants with EV OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) will connect their vehicle directly through the Connected Services account, without a connected car device. Data collected is shared with participants in a personalized portal and will be used by ev.energy and SaskPower to understand EV charging impacts on the grid.
You are eligible if you own or lease a plug-in vehicle — either a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle or an electric vehicle with a battery — and are either a SaskPower, Saskatoon Light & Power, or Swift Current Light & Power customer.

The Saskatchewan EV Charging Study collects information about:
- Charging session duration, energy consumption and location.
- Energy consumption and distance traveled.
- Personal information such as name, email, vehicle type and home address.
- GPS charging location coordinates will be used to determine how much charging is occurring within the utility service territory.
Information that can identify you personally will not be made public or given to organizations outside of ev.energy including SaskPower. For more details on the handling of personal information, please refer to the program’s Terms and Conditions.
The EV Charging Study follows the highest standards for cybersecurity and complies with ISO 27001:2013 security standards.
